Come learn about Limmud!

Limmud is coming to New Orleans!

Over the weekend of June 26-28 Limmud founder Clive Lawton will bring a taste the exciting Limmud movement to New Orleans.

The first New Orleans Limmud will then take place from March 13-14, 2010 at the Uptown Jewish Community Center.

Limmud originated in the United Kingdom as a curious mixture of part conference, part festival and quickly spread through dozens of countries.  This diverse gathering of hundreds of Jews takes place over over several days, and is filled with lectures, workshops, study sessions and performances--all planned by the community.  The New Orleans Limmud was initiated by the Rabbinic Counsel of New Orleans, but has grown to include a wide array of volunteers.

Jewish Heritage Night at the Zephyrs

Jewish Heritage Night at the Zephyrs was held on Thursday, June 4 at Zephyrs Field in Metairie.  Cantor Billy Tiep of Touro Synagogue kicked off the festivities with the national anthem, and dozens of members of the Greater New Orleans Jewish community came out to support the Zephyrs in a double-header against the Albuquerque Isotypes.
