United Jewish Communities recently released the list of its 2009-2010 National Young Leadership Cabinet portfolio holders.  New Orleans’ own Brian Katz was named vice-chair of Education/Leadership Development, which oversees young leadership programming for the Jewish Agency for Israel, the General Assembly and the Jewish Council for Public Affairs.

Other young area leaders have also taken on portfolio roles for Cabinet, too:

Joshua Force will serve as the Educational/Leadership Development Committee’s Chair of Cabinet General Assembly Programming.

Jonathan Kaplan will serve as the Membership Committee’s 1st Year Class Chair.

Serena Pollack will serve as the Campaign Committee’s Endowment Chair.

Lemann-Stern Young Leadership Program

The Jewish Federation sponsors the two-year Lemann-Stern Young Leadership program. The Lemann-Stern Young Leadership program, named in honor of two distinguished New Orleanians, Monte M. Lemann and Edgar B. Stern, Sr., was begun in 1960 for the purpose of training outstanding young men in the community for positions of leadership. learn more

Next Generation of Young Leaders for Israel The Jewish Agency for Israel (“JAFI”) is subsidizing "young leaders" for a special program to develop a next generation of informed leadership for Israel and overseas. more
