Set toward the end of a party, when shoes are off and truth is everywhere, our work, Zim, is about redefining community, the dance floor, streamers, and being carried by my mother while asleep. Originally inspired from Elana Jacob's own personal experiences growing up doing the hora on a tiny dance floor, and all the joy and sorrow coupled with it, the work has now become deeply personal to the 10 artists involved of different backgrounds. Zim is a collaboration with 4 CabinFever dancers and the New Orleans Klezmer Allstars.
