Each and every year, in communities throughout the country, MLK weekend is an opportunity for various organizations and houses of worship to come together to engage in Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s enduring call for a just and equitable society in which the basic rights and dignity of all people are strengthened and celebrated.

The Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans, Temple Sinai, and Masjidur Rahim mosque are partnering for "A Celebration of Peace" from Friday, January 18 - Monday, January 21, with the theme of "Unity in Community." Please join us for a very special event:

The entire Jewish community is encouraged to participate as we walk together with the Muslim community in the City's official MLK march! As in past years, the Federation is coordinating a bus to transport participants at no cost from the Home Depot at S. Claiborne Ave. and Earhart Blvd. to the beginning of the march route (the New Orleans Jazz Market) starting at 7:30 a.m.; and then from the end of the march route (A.L. Davis Park) back to the Home Depot starting around 12:00 p.m. The bus will be making multiple trips both ways. Thanks to Pelican Bus for providing the transportation.

Please RSVP here if you plan to participate in the march and to reserve your spot on the bus:
