Join us following services for a Shabbat dinner with guest scholar Zoe Jick.
Zoe will be speaking about her work with the Secular Yeshiva at BINA. BINA is the only yeshiva - institution of traditional Jewish learning - in the entire world that exists to serve primarily secular-identified Jews. This radically redefines what Jewish learning has historically been, and opens up new possibilities for what it can mean now, and in the future. In the US, where Jewish self-identity and education are at all-time lows, BINA provides an alternative model of Jewish learning and Jewish being.
Zoe Jick is the director of the English Beit Midrash at the Secular Yeshiva at BINA: The Jewish Movement for Social Change. She received a MTS in Jewish Studies from Harvard Divinity School. Zoe is a Wexner Graduate Fellow, and an alumna of many Jewish programs including Pardes, Yeshivat Hadar, Kivunim, and EIE. Zoe currently lives in Tel Aviv.
