In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the brand new Center for Jewish-Multicultural Affairs is partnering with Puentes New Orleans for a fascinating virtual story-telling event on the shared immigration experiences of the Jewish and Latinx communities. The evening will feature videos and testimonials from Latinx students who recently arrived in the United States, a brief historical overview of Jewish immigration to our country, and a presentation from New Orleans' own Anne Levy, a Holocaust survivor.
The event will also include a preview of the Center's next program in the Jewish-Latinx space: a reading group that will explore the two communities' ties, also through the lens of immigration, in collaboration with the New Orleans Public Library.
"Crossing Bridges" is open to the Jewish and the Latinx communities of Greater New Orleans.
Sponsor: The Center for Jewish-Multicultural Affairs was possible by a generous gift from the Goldring Family Foundation.
