The Center for Jewish-Multicultural Affairs (CJMA) and the New Orleans Public Library have teamed up to bring the Yiddish Book Center’s national “Coming to America” Reading Groups for Public Libraries program to the region! The book club is open to all residents of Greater New Orleans, with books centering on the theme of immigration to the United States from the Jewish and Latinx perspectives.

The program is highlighted by four virtual discussion group sessions, one session monthly for each of the books being read, to be held on the third Sunday of each month between January and April.

Today's selection: A Jewish Refugee in New York by Kadya Molodovsky

Future books and their respective discussion group dates are as follows:
***February 21, 2021: Enrique’s Journey by Sonia Nazario
***March 21, 2021: Enemies, A Love Story by Isaac Bashevis Singer
***April 18, 2021: Motl the Cantor’s Son by Sholem Aleichem

A limited number of copies of these books will be available to program participants at no cost.

Community members interested in participating in the program can register HERE.

Sponsor: The Center for Jewish-Multicultural Affairs is made possible by a generous gift from the Goldring Family Foundation.
