JFS is preparing for the 30th Annual Passover Food Distribution, which will take place on two dates: Sunday, March 29 and Wednesday, April 1. Both events will take place at Congregation Beth Israel. This program, co-chaired this year by Betsy Threefoot Kaston and Corey Rittvo, is a collaboration of donors, staff, board members, synagogues, New Orleans-area Jewish agencies and dedicated volunteers who provide over 100 baskets of Passover food and ritual objects to individuals in need in our community. Many of the recipients are elderly or people with disabilities, and for some it is the only contact that they have all year with other members of the Jewish community.
