The Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans serves as the central coordinating body for the Jewish community. Its purpose is to build and sustain a vibrant Jewish community in the Greater New Orleans area and, in accordance with Jewish tradition, to assure the continuity of the Jewish people in America, Israel and throughout the Diaspora. The Jewish Federation offers many opportunities for people to become involved in building a stronger Jewish community.

 

Through a network of local, national, and overseas agencies, the Jewish Federation helps educate the young, comfort the elderly, strengthen family life, and sustains a strong partnership with the world Jewish community.

 

The Annual Campaign is the lifeline of the Jewish community. Funds raised by committed volunteers each year are distributed to local, regional and national agencies, as well as the Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish Agency for Israel, which coordinate humanitarian efforts for Jews in Israel and in 60 countries around the world.
