Jewish Federations Announce 2024-25 Cabinet Co-Chairs

The Jewish Federations of North America’s National Young Leadership Cabinet (“Cabinet”) is proud to announce Beth Wayne (Palm Beach County) and Bobby Gibbs (Dallas) as its incoming Co-Chairs for 2024-2025.

In a term beginning July 1, 2024, they will build on the work of current Cabinet Co-Chairs, Danielle Gross (Phoenix), and Brett Tanzman (Greater MetroWest NJ), with a commitment to strengthening and enhancing Cabinet’s impact and participants’ ability to serve the Jewish community in a moment where leadership is needed to face once-in-a-generation challenges.

“Now, more than ever, it is important to make sure that we have security for all Jewish people, Advocacy to stop the hate and antisemitism, support for Israel, connection to community, and that we continue the work of taking care of Jewish people in North America and around the globe,” Wayne said. “We have seen over the last three months that we need to stand up, use our voices, call out bad behavior, and make changes. Never again is now! Leadership during critical times is more important than ever.”

Cabinet is Jewish Federations’ premier leadership development program that inspires the next generation of global Jewish leaders towards philanthropy, communal engagement, and activism. Cabinet has helped form six decades of Jewish leaders and philanthropists. It has more than 480 current members and 4,300 alumni across North America who foster flourishing Jewish communities around the globe. In 2023, Cabinet members raised nearly$4 million for their local Federation annual campaigns, representing the largest Cabinet campaign in Jewish Federation history.

Wayne and Gibbs are ready to take the baton and continue Cabinet’s mission of supporting the Jewish communities’ current and future leaders to be prepared to lead:

“Cabinet has rightfully shifted our focus toward the needs of the moment in Israel and the rampant expansion of antisemitism at home. We will continue this work. And we cannot lose focus on the long-term goals of the program,” Gibbs said, “The next year will be about finding that balance between meeting the immediate needs and continuing to prepare our membership to lead for the long term.”

Ben Schindler, Managing Director of the National Young Leadership Council, emphasized Cabinet’s need for strong leadership at this moment in time.

“Generations of Cabinet leaders have shaped the Jewish community, and we are thrilled that Beth and Bobby will bring their passion and their ability to inspire our members in serving the Jewish community in the coming year,” Schindler said. .“With war raging in Israel and antisemitism spiking in North America, there could not be a more critical time to double down on investing in our Jewish leaders through Cabinet. Beth and Bobby are the right leaders for this moment.”
